ASR Silicone Rubber Extruded Duo-Tapes® may be operated to temperatures of 450°F (232°C) with short term exposure to 500°F (260°C). They are available in ½ inch and 1 inch widths and lengths from 2 feet to 40 feet. The element is a knitted Duo-Tape® for flexibility and durability, which allows both power leads to be on one end. This construction can operate with occasional moisture present, but may not be submerged. Duo-Tape® heaters are extremely rugged. The Silicone outer cover allows them to be used on practically all surfaces, and for applications where moisture, chemical, and abrasion resistance is required. Do not overlap this element.
Self Regulating Heat Trace Cable
Self-Regulating Heat Cable is commonly used for freeze protection of water and drain lines, and for protecting residential and commercial roofs and gutters from ice dams. The temperature rating is for the heat cable’s outer jacket and has nothing to do with the actual temperature of the cable. For most residential applications, you will choose the low temperature cable, as most water lines in the home never exceed 150 degrees.
